Sustainable Agricultural Practices in Southern Tanzania (SAP-ST)

NIAB and Naliendele Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) worked on a collaborative research project, supported by St Andrews Stapleford-Nachingwea Link and Nachingwea Local Government and funded by the Cambridge-Africa Alborada Research Fund. The project sought to identify the facilities, practices and mechanisms that would improve the translation of agricultural technologies into farming practice in Nachingwea District, Southern Tanzania. The ultimate aim is to help the community fulfil its potential in attaining improved food and nutrition security and reduce poverty, while respecting the natural environment.

We are now developing proposals and fundraising plans to implement the recommendations from this project.
